Seasonal positions available from May 1st to October 1st in Skagway and Juneau, Alaska (some positions may start earlier and end later - i.e., maintenance).
Management: Management positions come open occasionally. We have limited management positions available at this time: please contact us directly.
Office and Clerical: Must have a clean driving record. Duties include taking reservations, answering phones, fax, data entry, fixing snacks and making refreshments for excursions. Also seeing off tours at cruise ship docks, collecting tickets, and settling with cruise ships (other duties as required or needed). Must be able to type proficiently, be good with general computer applications and possess good communication skills. Spelling/grammar must be good.
Horseback Guide: Very good experience is mandatory for this position. Clean driving record is necessary. Duties include driving a 15 passenger van and giving narrated tours from the cruise ship docks to the ranch. Guiding clients on a two hour horseback excursion up to 4 times/day, saddling and unsaddling, feeding, and general upkeep of horses and ranch. Also responsible for cleaning, washing and fueling vans. Various other duties as required or needed. Good work ethic a must! Must be good with people and horses.
Dog Musher: Experienced mushers with or without dog teams are encouraged to apply. Duties consist of driving a custom built wheeled sled while entertaining passengers about various aspects of mushing. Duties also include feeding dogs and cleaning/upkeep of dog camp. Good work ethic a must! Must be good with people/dogs!
Dog Handler: Rides/drives the sled with musher, helps with entertaining clients, keeping good care of the dogs, feeding, cleaning and other various duties as needed. Good work ethic a must! Must be good with people/dogs.
Musher's Camp Tour Driver: Must have a clean driving record. Requires a CDL. A tour driver picks people up from the cruise ship docks, gives a narrated tour through Skagway and out to the Dyea valley. At dog camp you will give clients a kennel tour, and help perform other duties at dog camp as needed. Must possess good communication skills, good driving skills and be good with people.
Maintenance: Must have a clean driving record. Duties include, but are not limited to; repairing, servicing and building equipment of various sorts; operating equipment such as loader, excavator, dump truck, work vehicles, etc.; cutting trees, building fences and cabins. Mechanical experience, use of a chainsaw, welding, and carpentry experience are virtually mandatory for this position.
