Josh Bissette
Bissette, 23, is from South River, NC. He started riding horses at the age of six because his dad made him. However, later in life, he started riding of his own free will while he was working on a cattle ranch in Mexico. Not only was riding part of the job, it was the only way to get around. Bissette loves riding horses because he enjoys spending time with them, and he strongly believes riding them surely beats them riding him. Bissette’s most favorite horse “tale” involves a horse named Ray. One day, Bissette fell asleep in the back of a truck parked in a pasture. Ray must have thought Bissette had enough to drink that night because he came along and stole Bissette’s beer. Bissette enjoys his job as a tour guide because he loves meeting people from all over the world. When he is not riding horses, he enjoys hiking, fishing, and making stuff. His favorite quote is by Winston Churchill. “The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man.” Bissette feels this quote leaves him with the challenge of always trying to figure out how to be a man.
