This adventure begins with a narrated ride through the historic streets of Skagway and on up the fabled White Pass. Following the same route as the train, the scenery on this pass is unique for it's abundant alpine lakes and streams set amidst towering mountain peaks. Near the summit, you¹ll cross the border into Canada and continue north into the Yukon, passing spectacular Emerald Lake and through the historic town of Carcross.
As you pass through the mountains into the Yukon Territory, you¹ll notice a radical change in vegetation as you leave the coastal rainforest for the dryer, warmer and more arid interior climate. Two hours out of Skagway, you'll reach our professionally maintained 9 hole course which is set amidst mountains, lakes and boreal forest. At roughly 60 degrees fifty minutes north latitude, it'll probably be the northernmost course you've ever played!
After getting outfitted in the log clubhouse with clubs, shoes and a cart, you'll tee off on for your morning of golf. The course is a regulation Par 36 and has 4 sets of tees on each hole with the length ranging from 1800 yards to 2800 yards , and 6,000 square feet U.S.G.A. standard greens. Layout of the course is both visually intriguing and varied from hole to hole with some nice forest and water hazards and fun topography thrown in to add spice. Overall, it's a solid moderately challenging course which combines with stunning scenery to make for a uniquely memorable round.
Following your game, there will be a buffet style lunch awaiting you in the clubhouse where you can also lounge and soak in the scenery. Your shuttle departs for Skagway following the lunch session. Enjoy the spectacular scenery on your way down the Klondike Highway , over the White Pass and back to your ship in Skagway.
Trip fees include 9 holes of golf, golf shoes (optional), club rental, golf cart rental and full lunch with hot and cold drinks. Limited "ride-along" seats will be available at a reduced rate to family and friends of participants who want to join the scenic ride and the lunch, but do not wish to golf.
